Super food loaded in fibers & antioxydants : Matcha Chia pudding for Breakfast
I will sound a bit like a broken record but when it comes to breakfast, (the first and most important meal of the day) I believe that it’s important to load our stomach with nutrient-dense food.
Since I discover Chia seeds (available in all organic stores, price range : 4 euros for 250g), I swear my mornings have never been better than since I tried this magical food (seriously!)
I love to couple these with Matcha green tea. But let me tell you first, all the benefits you’ll have from these two super food.
Chia seeds taste like tapioca pearls (kinda chewy, gelatin-like texture). I know that a lot of you won’t (or don’t if you already know this) like it, but that’s a shame since they pack a Powerful nutritional punch for the day ! Know that when you add water into it, the seeds will double their volume.
First benefit : Chia seeds are High in fiber. Meaning that these tiny guys are perfect to regulate your bowel movements. In other words, that helps you poop, eliminate gas, get rid of bloating and have a flat belly (how romantic I sound). They are also high in protein (perfect for vegetarian) !
Matcha Green Tea is High in antioxydants and detoxifies the body (burns calories) and lowers cholesterol ! The first time you'll try it (if you don't already), you'll be a little bit disgusted because it kinda tastes like... herb literally. But you know what? You'll be amazed how you're gonna appreciate the smell of it afterwards (well, maybe not but as far as I am concerned, this was my personal experience actually :p)
Whateverrr No excuses, you gotta try both in the morning because these super food are so good for your health, so here is my recipe of Matchia pudding with coconut and blueberry.
MATCHA CHIA PUDDING WITH SHREDDED COCONUT & BLUEBERRIES
- Organic Matcha rice milk or another vegetal milk (almond milk goes perfectly well but you’ll need to add additional sweetener like agave syrup or honey)
- 1 tablespoon of coconut milk (but not compulsory)
- Shredded coconut
- Fruits (You can either add blueberries, raspberries, mangos, pineapples.. Whatever you like, it’s up to you !)That’s it !
In a cup add your 3 tablespoons of chia seeds.
Add the milk of your choice (I chose of course the one with Matcha but you can also put almond milk or chestnut milk -in this picture- in which you incorporate 1 teaspooon of Matcha Green Tea after heating the milk in the microwave), it has to be more than half of the cup you pour this milk into since chia seeds will double its volume.
If you like it sweeter, add 1/2 teaspoon of agave syrup or honey and stir well.
Let if sift in the fridge for 30 minutes minimum or better, overnight (I love to do this recipe the day before thus I can enjoy it for breakfast early in the morning)
It should look like this :
Add shredded coconut on top with your favorite fruits.
